After school Drama Clubs have been running in two primary and two secondary schools for the academic year and have created numerous performances of street theatre, scripted and devised plays. The pupils decide for themselves what the Drama Clubs should work towards, so the performances have been exciting and sometimes groundbreaking. Just imagine posh neds at your parents' evenings, comedy gangsters on the streets, aliens invading your school, a seafaring murder mystery in the staff room and an over enthusiastic cleaner telling the head teacher off for walking dirt into the school!
All participants have developed confidence, commitment, skills and have forged
new friendships.
Groups have performed at assemblies, local community events,
authority wide events and even for teachers, contributing
positively to their school and local communities.
Groups have experimented with video cameras and created material
for education packs and staff development.
Over 60 young people aged 7-15 have participated in the workshops
and performances.
Over 1000 audience members have been entertained.
