New Rush

The national stadium at Hampden provided the final backdrop for a creative project that involved five schools in developing attendance and achievement with upils.

Hampden saw 50 young people from the primary and secondary sector "graduate" fromm a football and video project where their commitment and perseverance was as important as their football prowess and creativity.

The project began as a pilot during summer 2003, and grew into this 2004 term-time initiative and has again received support for a 2005 summer holiday experience.

Video artists from the Arts and Education Links Programme worked closely with coaches from the Council's Sport Development Unit and schools staff at all stages in the project's development and delivery.

All the films created within the four New Rush projects are now available on DVD.
