space invaders

Over the summer months the Arts & Education Links Programme is no less busy. Projects run throughout the summer holidays with dedicated Art and Drama Summer Schools as well as Space Invaders and a Summer Urban Arts School.

Aimed at children who are making the often life-changing transition from primary to secondary education, Space Invaders is designed to tackle disaffection with education by engaging young people with their new school in an imaginative and fun way.

Children explore their future secondary school and by working with artists, drama workers and dance artists transform whole areas of the school into fantastic worlds inhabited by ghosts, fairies, monsters, goblins, fortune tellers and royalty.

The children then have the chance to lead their friends and families through these worlds scaring them silly, making them laugh and impressing them with their new skills.

“Thank you for such a good time. Thank you so much.” – Space Invaders participant
